The Shoruq Organization’s performing arts troupe has proudly participated in the production of "Warida wa Murrada,"a unique artistic project that breathes new life into a traditional Levantine folk song. This collaboration serves as a testament to the ongoing efforts to preserve cultural heritage while presenting it in a contemporary style that resonates with new generations.

The project was produced by the Popular Art Centre (PAC) in partnership with RIWAQ – Centre for Architectural Conservation. The artistic vision was developed by the Popular Art Centre, while the music was arranged and composed by Ihab Haniyeh and Yaqoub Hammouda, featuring vocals by Maher Halabi.

The participation of the Shoruq troupe added a distinct layer to the performance. The choreography was designed by Sharaf Darzeid, with the assistance of Zein Saadeh. The performance featured a harmonious blend of artistic movement from three prominent groups: the Popular Art Centre, the Baladi Center for Culture and Arts, and the Shoruq Organization troupe. Together, they showcased the beauty of Palestinian folk dance (Dabke) as a vibrant expression of identity and heritage.

This collective artistic endeavor underscores the commitment of Palestinian cultural institutions to strengthen the national cultural presence, revitalizing folklore through modern production while empowering young creatives in the fields of performing arts and music.
