Shoruq Organization, in partnership with SWEDO – The Swedish Development Aid Organization, has launched the Free Voices campaign to promote press freedom and freedom of expression in Palestine, while raising awareness of the challenges facing journalists and media professionals.
The campaign reflects the shared commitment of Shoruq Organization and SWEDO to defending freedom of expression as a fundamental human right and to supporting an independent media environment where journalists can carry out their work safely, professionally, and without restrictions.
Through Free Voices, the campaign seeks to encourage public dialogue on the importance of media freedom, advocate for the protection of journalists’ rights, and strengthen public awareness of the role of independent journalism in promoting accountability, democracy, and social justice.
The campaign features a series of awareness and advocacy activities, including digital media productions, public discussions, capacity-building workshops, and online campaigns designed to engage journalists, young people, civil society organizations, and the wider community in conversations about media freedom and freedom of expression in Palestine.
By amplifying diverse voices and encouraging constructive dialogue, Free Voices aims to foster a culture that values free expression, respects media independence, and supports the right of every individual to access reliable information and express their opinions without fear.
Shoruq Organization and SWEDO invite media institutions, journalists, civil society organizations, and the public to participate in the campaign and contribute to its mission of promoting a freer, more inclusive, and more resilient media landscape in Palestine.
