Shoruq Popular Dabke Troupe Premieres “Raje’” in Bethlehem
Shoruq Popular Dabke Troupe premiered its new performance, “Raje’,” on stage in Bethlehem, Palestine, in a celebration of Palestinian identity, heritage, and belonging.
With steady steps and radiant faces, the troupe took to the stage as though walking along the paths leading back to their villages. Through graceful movements, synchronized steps, and elegant formations, the performers embodied the richness of Palestinian identity and brought the spirit of belonging to life.
As the rhythm of the dabke filled the stage, the ground seemed to tremble beneath the dancers’ feet, while the audience was carried through a powerful journey of pride, memory, and nostalgia.
Through “Raje’,” Shoruq Popular Dabke Troupe reaffirmed the role of Palestinian traditional dance as a living expression of heritage, collective memory, and connection to the land and community.
