Shoruq Organization launches the Palestinian Refugee Film Festival (PRFF) in its third edition this year:

(Dheisheh Refugee Camp) – For the third year in a row, Shoruq Organization is organizing its renowned Film Festival, which specifically focuses on short films that address the issues of refugees in general, with a particular emphasis on Palestinian refugees and their struggles. The main objectives of the festival this year are to increase cultural awareness and enhance the role of art and culture in creating cinematic content that reflects the human rights issues of the Palestinian people on a local and international level, as well as building a platform for discussion that nurtures Palestinian productions and incentivizes their dissemination, not only in Palestine but in the whole world. Accordingly, this film festival comes to support these works, emphasize freedom of expression and its role in society, and guarantee the Palestinians’ right to make their voice heard through cinematic arts of all kinds, which include but are not limited to: fictional, documentary, animation, and experimental.

This year, we received 400 films between Palestinian and international, all of which tackle a different aspect of the refugee problem. The festival jury consists of several remarkable Palestinian filmmakers, who have worked in this field for so long.

The festival will screen a variety of films on September 23 and 25, 2022

The Opening Ceremony will be held on 23/9/2022 at President Putin Palestinian Organization for Culture and Economy in Bethlehem at 7:00 PM.
