This program is in partnership with UNICEF
the training program for children aged 12 to 14 years, comprising 20 training hours distributed over five sessions. Ten children participated in the training, including 4 boys and 6 girls. The aim of this training was to enhance the children's skills in using computers, handling basic software, and ensuring their safety online.
During this training, the children were introduced to the concept of computers and how they work, including explanations of different types such as personal computers, laptops, and tablets. They also covered hardware components like the monitor and keyboard, as well as software components such as operating systems and applications.
Additionally, the children learned how to use the desktop environment, create and organize files and folders. In the realm of basic software, they were able to create and edit documents and format text using Microsoft Word.
They were educated on how to browse the internet safely, search for information using search engines, and create and manage email accounts. They were also introduced to the concept of programming, focusing on basic concepts such as variables, loops, and conditions, and were introduced to Scratch for creating projects.
The children were made aware of how to protect their personal information online and create strong passwords. Finally, they were trained on how to use Microsoft Excel to create and edit spreadsheets, and Microsoft PowerPoint to create and edit presentations
